2024 at Escala25 was incredible!

This year, Escala became an increasingly important hub for the climbing community in Portugal. For locals, expats, and newcomers alike, we’ve been more than just a place to climb—we’ve been a welcoming community, a place for unforgettable experiences, and a stepping stone for challenges and growth.

We’re proud to be a space where the love for climbing intersects with culture, education, and human connection, building bridges across backgrounds, languages, and skill levels. More than ever, 2024 showed us the positive impact we can have on the lives of everyone who walks through our doors.

Education and Clubs

• We welcomed Redbridge School and the British School of Lisbon to our weekly climbing clubs.
• St. Julian’s joined us for the second year in a row.
• Our kids’ and adults’ climbing clubs grew almost to full capacity!

Culture and Events

• We hosted over 10 music and cultural events, celebrating community arts and culture.
• We set a record number of teambuilding events, bringing amazing groups together through the sport.

 Introductions to Climbing and Training

• We introduced climbing to more than 200 new people, inspiring a new wave of adventurers.
• Our lead climbing workshops brought over 50 new climbers into the exciting world of lead climbing.
